Creating Our Classroom…Fresh Paint!

HOME3

The story of Ashcreek Playschool begins with creating the perfect space for our students. A haven filled with laughter and tiny chattering voices where children can play freely, make wonderful friendships and leave each day with smiling faces and happy memories. This is the first post in a series on Creating our Classroom — starting with a little fresh paint!

Earlier this week, founding members and teacher Erika donned their messy clothes, gathered paint brushes, rollers, ladders and got to work painting the Ashcreek classroom.

What started as a rented classroom at Murray Hills Christian Church was transformed into a tranquil light blue space ready for classroom setup. The team extends a special thank you to Sherwin-Williams in Sherwood for donating paint and primer for the classroom.

The team celebrates a series of accomplishments towards launching the school, from achieving 501(c)3 nonprofit status earlier this year to joining the Parent Child Preschool Organization (PCPO), a nonprofit organization founded in Portland of more than 60 cooperative preschools and kindergartens. Ashcreek Playschool and its Board of Directors follows all PCPO rules and regulations in the running of the school.

Stay tuned for more updates in the Creating Our Classroom series over the next few weeks as we prepare for our summer sessions!
